Kosher week comes to Chabad

The inaugural Conejo Valley Kosher Pickle Making Workshop will take place at 8 p.m. Mon., Nov. 10 at the Conejo Jewish Academy, 303045 Canwood St., Agoura Hills.

The event includes a buffet spread of a variety of pickles, some flown in from the East Side of Manhattan, home of the Essex Street Pickles.

Participants will make and take home their own jar of pickles using one of the recipes provided.

The fee is $18 and reservations are required by calling (818) 991-0991 or visiting www.jewishacadmey.com.

The pickle workshop is offered in conjunction with Chabad of the Conejo Kosher Week to educate the community on the subject of kosher.

Albertsons at 5770 Lindero Canyon, Westlake Village, will cosponsor a tour of the supermarket at 11 a.m. Sun., Nov. 9. Participants will learn which products on the shelves are kosher and which are not.

From Sunday through Tuesday of the week, a kosher booth will be set up in the store. The booth will offer kosher information, food samplings, cooking demonstrations, challah baking, a kosher product guide, children's scavenger hunt, free videos and daily prize drawings.

A workshop on how to run a kosher kitchen will be at 8 p.m. Tues., Nov. 11. Call the phone number below for location.
