Girl Scouts seek new members at princess party
Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast is hosting an "Enchanted Evening" for girls ages 5 to 11 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sat., Nov. 8 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1600 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
This event is for girls who want to learn about becoming a Girl Scout. Girls must be accompanied by a parent for this event.
Participants will make a princess crown and bracelet, learn some Girl Scout songs, receive their first patch and watch a princess movie.
Troop leaders will be on hand to answer questions, and parents will learn about Girl Scouts in an informative 20-minute session.
Girls should bring a blanket and pillow or sleeping bag to this event.
The cost is $13 for new girls, which includes one-year Girl Scout membership, crafts, patch, popcorn and drink. Currently registered Girl Scouts who bring a friend pay $3. Scholarships are available for any girl or adult experiencing financial hardship.
