Global tech corp relocates division to T.O.
Ralph Phillips Smiths Group, a multibillion-dollar, global technology public limited company, is relocating its Smiths Interconnect division to Thousand Oaks and has appointed Ralph Phillips of TECOM Industries president of the division.
With 3,100 employees in the U.S., U.K., Europe and Central America, Smiths Interconnect has 2008 sales of $500 million.
The move will bring up to 12 new white-collar managerial level jobs to Conejo Valley.
Four employees have relocated from Chicago.
A facility has been leased across the street from TECOM Industries, 375 Conejo Ridge Ave.
The division is moving here to improve its services to an expanding international customer base, especially in the Far East, and to facilitate recruitment for future growth.
Smiths Interconnect is expand
ing geographically and broadening its technology. As part of this strategy, it recently acquired Shanghai-based Allrizon and Brisbane-based Triasx Pty Ltd. Both those firms design and manufacture radio frequency filters and related products. TECOM Industries, one of the Smiths Interconnect businesses, has been in Thousand Oaks since 2001. Smiths Interconnect designs and manufactures specialized electronic and radio frequency products primarily for the global wireless telecommunications, aerospace and defense markets. tomers are BAE Systems, Raytheon, Finmeccanica, AAI/ Textron, Northrop Grumman, Ericsson, Motorola, Sprint Nextel, ZTE, GE Medical and Alstom.
