Musician bios for Thousand Oaks Philharmonic

Daniel Lessler Daniel Lessler Pianist Daniel Lessler, 17, is a senior at Rio Mesa High School. He plays instruments in the school's jazz band, jazz quartet, winter drumline, marching band, and concert band. He also accompanies both Rio Mesa's and Temple Ner Ami's choirs. He lives in Somis.

Daniel has been awarded numerous accolades at festivals sponsored by the Music Teachers' Association. He has been a regional winner of the Southern California Junior Bach Festival and has appeared in the Santa Barbara Bach Showcase. He has performed at the MTAC State Convention. In 2006 Daniel performed at the Ventura County Music Festival Rising Stars Recital. He has been a soloist with the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic. He has won competition-based scholarships and placed first in the 2008 SYMF Concerto Competition.

Travis Nunn, baritone, is a scholarship student in vocal studies with Henry Price at Pepperdine University. He previously studied with John Glenn Paton at Moorpark College, where he was an award-winning graduate. Nunn is working on his senior graduation recital, and he will be singing in the university's upcoming opera. Nunn lives in Camarillo.

Travis Nunn Travis Nunn Violinist Trina Boman, 16, is a junior at Thousand Oaks High School and lives in Thousand Oaks. She studies violin with Melissa Phelps-Beckstead and is an active member of the Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra. She received first place in the Henry Schwab Violin Competition. She has also performed with the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic as a winner of the Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra concerto competition and has won second place in the Southern California Junior Bach Competition, senior division.

Pianist Landon Baumgard is a senior at Cal State Universtiy Northridge. He has received the CSUN Arts Council Scholarship, the dean's award for outstanding junior and senior, and the Gimpel Award for the top pianist. Baumgard was a soloist with the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic his senior year at Moorpark High School. He won the university Concerto Competition as a sophomore and was the featured soloist with the orchestra. He was a finalist in the Edith Knox Performance Competition. Baumgard lives in Moorpark.

Trina Boman Trina Boman Pianist David Fraley, 12, of Camarillo is a seventh-grade honors student at Monte Vista Middle School. He's been a Gold Medal winner in the Music Teachers' Association of California Contemporary Festival for two years. David was a winner at the Regional Bach Festival and performed at the final tricounty showcase in Santa Barbara. He was a guest soloist at a Mozart Seminar hosted by Cal State Channel Islands and was scholarship award winner in the Leni Fe Bland Auditions at the Music Academy of the West. He was also the first-place winner of the 2008 L.A. RomanticImpressionistic Competition.
