WENDY PIERRO/Acorn Newspapers BROWN'S BACK—Newbury Park High's Chris Brown had 48 yards of offense and two tackles in his second game back from injury. Simi Valley (2-5) at Westlake (5-2)

Outlook: Left for dead following an 05 start to their season, the Simi Valley Pioneers are right back in the middle of the postseason push following wins over Agoura and Calabasas.

Tonight, however, things get a little tougher for Simi Valley.

Westlake, ranked No. 6 in the latest CIF-Southern Section coaches' poll, is averaging a league-best 39.5 points per game.

The Warriors have scored 40 points or more on four occasions, including a season-high 50 points in last weekend's rout of Royal.

A victory tonight means WHS head coach Jim Benkert ties former St. Bonaventure head coach Jon Mack for first place on Ventura County's all-time win list.

Calabasas (1-6) at Newbury Park (5-2)

Outlook: The Newbury Park Panthers will be searching foback-to-back victories for the firstime since Sept. 26 when they hosthe Calabasas Coyotes on Halloween night.

The Panthers' rushing attack was scary good during a close win over Agoura last weekend. NPHS piled up 195 yards on the groundwith junior Cameron Roberson doing the bulk of the damage.

Sophomore quarterback Jake Geringer continues to be a game manager more than a playmakefor the Panthers. It'll be interesting to see when the NPHS coaching staff finally takes the shackles off the young signal-caller. Calabasas has allowed 119 total points in its last three games.
