Alliance for the Arts makes donation

The Alliance for the Arts recently issued theater credits totaling $200,000 to support 29 local nonprofit performing arts groups. The funds will offset the groups' cost of renting the Kavli and Scherr Forum theaters.

"The alliance's goal is to offset as much of the theater rental costs as our budget will allow, so that when the performing arts groups sell tickets to see their shows, the majority of those funds can be used to support their own organizations and productions," said president and executive director Patricia Jones.

The Alliance for the Arts also recently nominated Dick Goodrich as new board chairman. Goodrich has served on the alliance board of directors for 13 years and has served on the executive, finance and board development committees.
