WOMEN IN HISTORY TO BE REMEMBERED—Mary Schwabauer, left, past chair of Ventura County Community Foundation, awards a grant of $4,000 to Elaine Williams of Conejo Valley Historical Society. The local group will use the money to publish "Ladies of the Conejo," stories about 17 women who made significant contributions in the area from 1833 to 1955. The grant was presented during a reception earlier this month in Camarillo.
