Alzheimer's sufferers to be remembered

A "Candles of Care" candlelighting ceremony to remember those who have died due to Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 13 at Sunrise Assisted Living, 3101 Townsgate Road, Westlake Village.

November is National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month, and the National Commemorative Candle Lighting is an annual event of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

The ceremony remembers those who have passed away as a result of Alzheimer's disease and honors families affected by it.

It is also intended to educate the public about the disease and raise awareness of community resources.
