Violinist will solo at college concert

Violinist Trina Boman, a Thousand Oaks resident, wilsolo with the Ventura College Symphony Orchestra at its Winner's Circle concert at 8 p.m. Sat., Oct. 25 at the school, 4667 Telegraph Road, Ventura.

Boman won the 2008 Henry

Schwab Ventura County Violin Contest. She'll perform Mendelssohn's "Concerto for Violin" andSaintSaens' "Havanaise for Violin." The program will also include Mozart's "40th Symphony," Irving Berlin's "Puttin' on the Ritz" and

Lopez's "Fiesta Tropicale."

Tickets will be available at the door on the night of the show. The cost is $10 for general admission and $5 for students, seniors and Ventura College staff.
