Will have a ball at the Rotary Street Fair
     ENCOURAGING KIDS TO PLAY- - Fitness and sports director David DeMaio will distribute footballs and basketballs during Sunday's Rotary Street Fair on Moorpark Road in T.O. while promoting sign-ups for athletic programs at Redwood, Colina, Sequoia and Los Cerritos middle schools. Weekend leagues will be offered to kids ages 3 to 14 and weekday leagues for kids 11 to 14. Costs range from $55 to $100. Youth Chorale holds auditions
      Auditions for the Master Chorale Children and Youth are being scheduled and will be held throughout October. Under the umbrella of the Master Chorale of Ventura County, children ages 8 to 17 will have the opportunity to learn rhythm reading, sight singing, proper breathing and voice placement.

Kinetic sculpture race coming
      The 11th annual Kinetic Sculpture Race will be held on Sat., Oct. 25 at the Ventura Harbor. The race is sponsored by the Ventura Players Club and will include a Poker Run. At the end of each challenge, each entry will receive a playing card. The team with the best poker hand will win $500.

Improv Company to have auditions
      Ventura Improv Company will hold auditions at 7 p.m. Wed., Oct. 22 and at 10:30 a.m. Sat., Oct. 25 at the theater, 34 N. Main St., Ventura. The company is the longest-running comedy improv group in Ventura County. They perform every Friday and Saturday night and at special events.
