Church to present disaster and emergency preparedness workshop

Ascension Lutheran Church will host a Disaster/Emergency Preparedness Workshop from 8 a.m. to noon Sat., Oct. 25 at the church, 1600 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. The public is invited at no charge.

Representatives from the sheriff's department, fire department, Red Cross, city of Thousand Oaks and the Ventura County Ham Radio Operators Club will discuss their recommendations for residents who want to plan for a possible event.

There will also be a display of items that should be in each family's emergency storage container
