The Arts Council of the Conejo Valley is sponsoring a Write Nights workshop for writers, called "From Pen to Press: Finding the Right Markets for Your Writing and Getting it Published," from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 23 at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

Robert Weibezahl will lead the workshop. He will discuss how to market an article, story, manuscript or book proposal, how to submit and dealing with agents and editors.

Weibezahl has worked as a book publicist, freelance magazine and newspaper writer, book critic, columnist, copywriter, anthologist and novelist. He has published a novel, "The Wicked and the Dead," and two mystery cookbooks: "A Taste of Murder" and "A Second Helping of Murder." Light refreshments will be served.

The cost is $20 for Arts Council members and $25 for nonmembers. Space is limited, and reservations are required.
