Woes in Conejo schools could have been avoided, says board candidate
      Had the Conejo Valley Unified School District board been more proactive, according to John Andersen, it could have saved a lot of trouble in recent years. In his second time running for the school board, the 22-year Newbury Park resident plans to focus on bringing back some of the hundreds of students who have left CVUSD.

Electronic waste event coming to TOHS
      The Thousand Oaks High School Cheerleaders will host a free electronic recycling event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., Oct. 11 at the high school, 2323 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks. Community members may bring computers, printers, monitors, televisions, mobile phones, cameras and other electronic waste.
