Woman, 99, shares words to live by

Sara Rocklin will be 99 years old on Tues., Oct 14. She's stay

ng at the Thousand Oaks Health Center on Avenida de Los Arboles but should return to Hillcrest Royale within the next month or so.

She recently was asked by her amily to give some advice or words to live by.

Here's what she wrote:

Wake up with a smile.

Plan your day.

If you have a dream, follow it.

Don't ever give up on your dreams.

Always look your best; you never know when you are going to meet someone.

Be the first to say hello to others.

Don't hold anger, let it go. It takes more energy to be angry than to be happy, so you might as well be happy.

Strive for understanding others.

Assist people who need it and help people with kindness. Don't give up on people.

Know your family and enjoy them.

When you work, pay yourself first and put the money in the bank; save for a rainy day.

Don't get into debt. About money —make it, enjoy it, save it and give a little to others.

Enjoy your own surroundings. Enjoy the simple things of life. Don't envy your friends.

To have a friend, be a friend.
