Music Studio Opens in Westlake Village
Bernadette Nader Lazo has recently returned to California to open the Bernadette Nader Music Studio at 229 Via Colinas, Westlake Village.
Lazo has always maintained a music studio, teaching piano and voice to students ages 7 to adult. She has performed as a pianist in concerts and as an accompanist for singers in New York opera companies.
She began her career in the American Community School at Beirut, where she taught music from K-12 and directed a choral group at American University.
She continued teaching music classes and directing choral groups in Boston's schools. She continued teaching music classes and directing choral groups in Boston for several years.
After postgraduate studies in choral conducting at Harvard University, Lazo moved to San Francisco to further her career, teaching piano and voice and becoming an organist and choir director.
The journey continued in New York where Lazo studied instrumental conducting at Juilliard and directed church choirs and the Festival Chorus in Yorktown Heights.
Her return to California has allowed Lazo to continue teaching, conducting choirs and directing musicals.
Her latest project is the arrangement of 15 sessions of music appreciation and participation designed for seniors, titled "Sing Along Through the Decades."
