Wouldn't vote for Palin under any circumstances In her Sept.25 diatribe, columnist Elizabeth Kirby never mentioned the candidate's name. It's Sarah Palin, the "Ovarian Candidate." It has a ring to it. A divisive, non-unifying ring. Therefore, are the rest of the runners "Testicular Candidates"? I truly hope that, as Kirby says, her "brain is forthcoming." What a hysterical rant on the superiority of women. Holy penis envy! However, she finally did make one worthwhile point in the next to last paragraph: "It's about who is best prepared to lead our country and their credentials as leaders." Why not open that can of worms to speculation? Is the "OC" (Ovarian Candidate) really prepared to run this country should her aged "TC"(Testicular Candidate) running mate keel over? Believe it or not, the media has indeed looked past her gender and appearance to her history as a politician. Perhaps some of us have seen or heard about the OC's policy on aerial hunting of wolves in Alaska, or the $150 reward for the trophy of the wolf's left foreleg. Then there's Troopergate, and her non-green energy policy and the way she has spent taxpayers' money. What I've seen doesn't inspire my confidence in her. In fact, if she were a he, I would still not vote for him. But I digress. I wonder if Ms. Kirby- - or is it Mrs. or Miss?- - considers Palin a better qualified candidate just because she's a woman? Or because she looks better on TV than those balding "good old boys"?- She does! Those aren't good enough reasons for me. Steve Gunner Newbury Park |
