McCain critic takes aim at Palin No, Mr. Bartnick (T.O. Acorn letters, Sept. 18, "Doesn't believe the McCain critic"), I don't make stuff up; I read. Use Google— it's all there. You're right about one thing; it is odd that the so-called "liberal media" doesn't provide this information. Maybe it's because it's not as liberal as conservatives want us to think. If neocons admitted the media wasn't liberal, who would they blame stuff on? The news on Sept. 11 of this year showed not quite 1,000 people watching Sarah Palin give a rousing speech to the men going off to Iraq. What TV news didn't show was a few hours later, down the street, the biggest political rally in Alaska history- - almost 1,500 people turning out for the "Alaska Women Reject Sarah Palin Rally." The biggest rally in Alaska's history, and the "liberal media" didn't think it was newsworthy. So now it's Sarah's turn. Forget her lack of experience; let's look at her experience. I'm sure you've heard of Troopergate; you know, how she abused her power by firing her ex-brother-in-law's boss for not firing him and now refuses to cooperate with the 14 member— mostly Republican—committee investigating it. Here are other things: She advocates the barbaric practice of aerial gunning of endangered wolves and calls it hunting. She gained power by exposing the practice of her rival of conducting political party business in state offices, yet in April lawmakers accused her of improperly culling thousands of email addresses from a state database for a mass mailing to rally support for a policy initiative. When there was a vacancy at the top of the state Division of Agriculture, she appointed her friend, Franci Havemeister, to the $95,000-a-year directorship. A former real estate agent, she cited her childhood love of cows as a qualification for running the $2-million agency. The list of abuses goes on and on- - far too many to list in 350 words. Do everyone a favor and do even a small amount of research on this very scary woman. Did we learn nothing from the abuses of the Bush administration these past eight years?
