Society hosts lectures on 'The Art of Pottery'
The Antiques Study Group of the Conejo Valley Historical Society will host a lecture series titled "The Art of Pottery" from 9:30 a.m. to noon Thursdays Oct. 9 though 30 at the Stagecoach Inn Museum, 51 S. Ventu Park Road, Newbury Park.
Antiques and collectibles expert Rita S. Faulders will speak about American potteries and their identifying forms and glazes.
Pottery tableware will also be discussed.
Participants are encouraged to bring pieces from their own collections to share at show-and-tell sessions during each class. The class schedule is: Oct. 9Pottery terms and techniques; Oct16, Best known American potteries; Oct. 23, California companies
from 1890 to 1920; and Oct. 30Pottery tableware.
Faulders is an instructor of the history of decorative arts. She presents lectures, seminars and classes
