Postage is lower on vote by mail ballots

The Ventura County Elections Division recently announced a change in the postage required to return Vote by Mail ballots.

The rate will be 59 cents to return the two-card ballot.

"In these times of economic turmoil we want to make sure the voters get accurate information on the postage," said Philip Schmit, county clerk recorder. "When we received the final ballots, a change in the weight resulted in a decrease of 20 cents in postage. It may not be much in some people's eyes, but it helps."
