Homecoming festivities set at CLU

The California Lutheran University Alumni Association will celebrate Homecoming and Family Weekend from Thurs., Oct. 9 to Sun., Oct. 12.

The festivities officially begin at 8 p.m. Oct. 9 with the homecoming coronation ceremonies at Lundring Events Center. The 2008 homecoming king and queen will be crowned as part of CLU's long-standing tradition.

On Friday, the annual Alumni and Friends Golf Classic will be held at Malibu Country Club.

That evening, following family dinners and Bingo Night, a homecoming carnival will be held on Memorial Parkway. Parents and alumni will also have an opportunity to visit classes during the day.

Events on Sat., Oct. 11 include Breakfast with the President, alumni tennis matches and an Alumni and Family Festival in the Gilbert Center Courtyard.

The Kingsmen football team will compete against PomonaPitzer at 1 p.m. in Mount Clef Stadium. Saturday afternoon activities include class reunions in Lundring Events Center, a parent reception and the Kingsmen Alumni Basketball Game in Gilbert Arena.

On Sun., Oct. 12, an allcampus continental breakfast will be followed by a worship service in Samuelson Chapel. In the afternoon, a concert will feature the CLU Choir and Women's Chorale.
