Girl Scouts to host new-member rallies

For more than 95 years, Girl Scouts has helped girls through activities that are fun, cooperative and led by females.

In conjunction with the start of the school year, Girl Scout troops are forming throughout Ventura County.

Locally, new member rallies are scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m. Sun., Oct 5 in Oak Park at Mae Boyar Park, 139 N. Kanan Road, and from 5 to 6 p.m. Mon., Oct. 6 in Westlake Village at United Methodist Church, 1049 S. Westlake Blvd.

Girls 5 to 17 are invited to attend either rally with their families to learn more about Girl Scouting. Both events are free.

Girl Scout registration for girls and adults is $10 per person and will be available at both events.

Scholarships are available for any girl or adult experiencing financial hardship.
