The Bodie House presents The Refugees

Concerts at the Bodie House presents The Refugees at 8 p.m. Sat., Sept. 27.

The Refugees are Cindy Bullens, Deborah Holland and Wendy Waldman. They began playing music together last year and are working on their first album.

Bullens was a backup singer for Elton John and was nominated for a Grammy for her work on the "Grease" soundtrack.

Holland was a member of the band Animal Logic with Stewart Copeland and Stanley Clarke. She has scored and written songs for film and television, and is a music professor at Cal State Los Angeles.

Waldman was a member of Bryndle in the 1970s and has written songs such as "Save the Best for Last" performed by Vanessa Williams, "Heartbeat" by Don Johnson and "Fishin' In the Dark" by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Admission is $20. All proceeds go to the musicians. A dessert and appetizer bar will be provided.
