Samuelsson Foundation awards more than $600,000 in grants

The Harriet H. Samuelsson Foundation recently awarded more than $624,000 in grants to organizations supporting children and adolescents residing in Ventura County.

Grant recipients are:

American Cancer Society "Camp Reach for the Stars"— $10,000

Assistance League of Conejo Valley—$10,000

Big Brothers Big Sisters— $75,000

Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark—$30,000

Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clara Valley—$100,000

Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley—$35,000

Camp Fire USA—$2,500

CAREGIVERS Volunteers Assisting the Elderly—$35,000

City Impact—$50,000

Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast—$25,000

Interface Children Family Services—$40,000

Many Mansions—$10,000

Ojai Valley Youth Foundation—$35,000

Rescue Mission Alliance— $20,000

Ride On L.A.—$10,000

United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties—$20,000

University Charter Schools— $150,000

Ventura County Medical Resource Foundation—$31,826

Westminster Free Clinic— $50,000

The Harriet H. Samuelsson Foundation has assets of approximately $30 million and distributes approximately $1.35 million each year in two grant cycles.

Qualified organizations that support cancer research or children and adolescents living in Ventura County may apply for funding by submitting a letter of inquiry to the website www.samuelssonfoundation.org.

Letters of inquiry for the next grant cycle will be accepted from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31.
