The Conejo Valley Bonsai Society will hold its fifth annual Bonsai Exhibition and Demonstration from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Oct. 4 and 5 at Gardens of the World, 2001 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.

The exhibition will be at the garden's resource center and will display society members' work. The demonstrations will be in the bandstand at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The demonstrations explain techniques in examining a raw tree, determining which branches or limbs to keep or remove and the new shape to which it should be trained by wiring and trimming.

Members will be on hand to provide information on society activities, bonsai techniques, ideas for planting and pot selection.
