Adult school will offer workshop oteaching reading and writing

Conejo Valley Adult School Literary Program will offer a free literacy tutor workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., Oct. 11 at the Conejo Valley Adult School, room 5, 1025 Old Farm Road, Thousand Oaks.

The workshop will prepare adult volunteers to tutor adults in basic literacy skills. Volunteers do not need a teaching background.

After completing the training, volunteers will commit to a minimum of two hours per week, days or evenings, to tutor an adult student in the schools' Literacy Center.
