Also opposes plan for self-storage

I live in Westlake Hills, which is across the street from the location of the proposed self-storage facility mentioned in last week's letters. Like last week's writer, I, too, am amazed that city officials would even consider allowing development of another storage facility on Duesenberg Drive when, literally a few hundred feet away, there already exists a large storage facility.

Do we need this much storage and on the same small street?

On top of all the negative impacts that were mentioned in last week's letter- selfstorage provides no sales tax to the city and doesn't contribute to local jobs- let me add one more: The proposed development of this storage facility will result in the removal of five oak trees- this according to the sign on the property.

I think our city officials should stop this project from being developed. I also urge others to join me in opposition to this selfstorage facility by contacting Ed Rinke, city planner for the project. Pat Dornan Thousand Oaks
