Reception set for Olympians

The Thousand Oaks City Council will host a reception for residents who participated in the 2008 Olympic Games at 5 p.m. Tues., Sept. 23 in the Scherr Forum Theatre lobby at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

The event will give residents the opportunity to meet the Olympians. The City Council will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. and hand out commendations of congratulations.

Honorees include Equestrian Team gold medal winner Will Simpson and Men's Water Polo Team coach, silver medal winner Terry Schroeder. U.S. Tennis Team member Sam Querry will be unable to attend the event.
