Ventura's Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) recently announced that Commissioner George Lange was elected to the executive board of the California Association of Local Agency Formation Commissions at its annual conference in Universal City on Sept. 4.

He's the only newly elected board member from the Southern California region.

Lang is the vice chair of the Ventura formation commission. He began as an alternate member in 2005 and became a regular member in 2007.

He also serves as the chair of the Conejo Recreation and Park District board of directors and is president of the Ventura County Special Districts Association.

The California association provides statewide coordination of formation commission activities, serve as a resource to the legislature and other bodies, and offer a structure for sharing information among the various formation commissions and other governmental agencies.
