Commission for Women elects new board members

Janet Barron of Ventura has been elected chair of the Ventura County Commission for Women. She is an advocate for social justice issues and serves as co-chair of the Ventura-Oxnard chapter of the National Organization for Women.

Also elected to the commission were:

Mary Pallant of Oak Park, vice chair

Nancy Lee Phillips of Camarillo, treasurer

Carmen Hurd of Port Hueneme, recording secretary

Shante Morgan Durisseau of Moorpark, corresponding secretary

The Ventura County Commission for Women is an advisory board established by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors in 1981. The commission serves as advisors to the board of supervisors on issues impacting women in Ventura County.
