Rotary Club to host Oktoberfest

The 22nd annual Rotary Club of Newbury Park Oktoberfest will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat., Sept. 27 and Sun., Sept. 28 at Underwood Family Farms between Thousand Oaks and Moorpark off the 23 Freeway at the Tierra Rejada exit.

Entertainment will be provided by the 20-member German American Brass Band, the dance and musical group Tanze de Gemutlichen Schuhplattler, the L.A. Blue Birds, the Spirit Cloggers and Accordian Fruende.

The event will also include audience-participation contests for the best Bavarian costumes and stein-holding.

Cost is $10. Children ages 2 and under are free. A hayride is included with each entry, and parking is free. Tickets are available online at a $1 discount.
