Dunn defends his decisions on the board of education
      I get the impression Arleigh Kidd and Tina Aschenbrenner do not love me (through their letters to the editor). Why? Arleigh Kidd's salary is paid for by the CTA (California Teachers Association). I'm the only Conejo Valley Unified School District member not taking money from the CTA.

Voters must avoid electing another trustee like Dunn
      I recently retired from Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) after teaching for 35 years. I don't know who Greg Lee is ("Union leader's criticism of Dunn went too far," Aug. 21 T.O. Acorn ), but I know Arleigh Kidd. I've found the latter to be honorable, honest, and forthright.

      John McCain, a great American war hero, spent five and a half years in a POW camp, while at home his devoted, beautiful, swimsuit-model wife was raising his three children alone, awaiting his rescue. When he returned, it wasn't to the attractive, willowy, woman he had married, but to a broken, disfigured, crippled woman who had endured her own torture.

Democrats jumped into the deep sea of liberalism
      As a Republican and an American, I must congratulate Barack Obama on receiving the Democratic nomination. We can all be proud that he's broken the color barrier; we've come a long way, and it's good for the country. The only problem is he's the wrong African American and stands little chance of winning.
