Artist's mural featured in fundraiser at Oaks Gallery
Susan Rios creates 'A Caregivers Oasis' for Circle of Care
The Oaks Gallery will host Mural for a Cause, "A Caregiver's Oasis," featuring Circle of Care Leeza's Place and Susan Rios, from 1 to 4 p.m. Sun., Sept. 14 at the Oaks Gallery and at the atrium of The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks. Artist Susan Rios created the painting "A Caregiver's Oasis" as a special Mural for a Cause fundraiser for Circle of Care Leeza's Place in Sherman Oaks. Rios will be available to autograph Mural for a Cause thank-you tiles, small giclee canvases and limited reproductions of the original painting. Proceeds from the sale of this artwork will benefit Circle of Care. Circle of Care Leeza's Place is a free resource and support center in the greater San Fernando Valley for family caregivers and their loved ones with memory impairment to gather for education and support. All programs are free. Compassionate Arts Tile and Stone created the concept for Mural for a Cause by transforming Rios' painting onto 144 tiles that will become a wall mural after installation in Circle of Care's living room. Tiles are available for sale at the $200 Friend level and the $500 Benefactor level. All donors will receive a thank-you tile and name recognition.
