Has heard enough from bashers of school district
      Am I the only parent who's had enough of the bashing being done to our school district? In an Aug. 7 letter to the Acorn regarding the closure of Meadows, Mr. John Hollister states, "Our options are to go to private school or transfer out to a neighboring district or form Meadows Arts and Technology Elementary School (MATES).

City and residents should work harder to be green
      The article which reported Thousand Oaks as one of America's greenest cities really amused me. It reminds me of similar articles that brag about U.S. medical care being better than that of Zimbabwe. Being 48th out of 50 is nothing to brag about, and we really need to do better.

      How amusing to read Ms. Aschenbrenner's letter complaining about another person's inaccurate statement when most every letter she writes is inaccurate, void of promises and full of wild assumptions based on fear and anecdotal evidence.

Let all voices be heard in letters to the editor
      The Thousand Oaks Acorn has printed letters in recent issues where the writer of the letter attacked a particular individual because of a diverse point of view. The Acorn went so far as to warn its readers to get ready for a dirty election this year, citing negative campaigning by all sides of the political spectrum.
