Audubon Society announces events

Anniversary celebration slated

The Ventura County Audubon Society has announced its events schedule for September.

•Dee Lyon will lead a group to the Santa Clara River Mouth Sat., Sept. 6 to look for ducks, sandpipers, herons, terns, plovers, phalaropes, turnstones, moorhens, pipits and ospreys. Attendees meet at 8 a.m. at the Las Posas Park and Ride and should bring a spotting scope. For more information, call Lyon at (805) 499-2165.

•The Conejo Valley chapter will celebrate its 40th anniversary at 7:30 p.m. Mon., Sept. 8 at the Western Foundation of Vertebrate Zoology, 439 Calle San Pablo, Camarillo. The meeting will include slide shows of the group's summer activities. For more information, call (805) 987-2721.

•Bets Buchanan will lead a group to Tamarisk Trees and Sod Farms Sun., Sept. 14 to look for migrating warblers. Attendees meet at Las Posas Park and Ride at 7:45 a.m. For more information, call Buchanan at (805) 4820063.
