Triunfo dispute escalating
      As a candidate for the Triunfo Sanitation District (TSD) board, I take issue with Ventura Regional Sanitation District Manager (VRSD) Mark Lawler's Aug. 14 T.O. Acorn letter where he contends that conflicts of interest identified between the VRSD and the TSD are "erroneous" and "were discredited two years ago.

Supervisor weighs in on Triunfo issue
      I appreciate that Mike Paule, who is running for a seat on the Triunfo Sanitation District, is addressing the district's finances and conflict of interest issues. Despite the recent letter to the editor from Triunfo's general manager dismissing these two issues as nonexistent, they are very real concerns that need to be addressed.

      I read the caustic letter that Arleigh Kidd wrote describing Mike Dunn as a person who lacks integrity, is indecent and most of all a liar. He describes himself as an honest exMarine who has never broken his vows of upholding the Constitution, who has integrity and is a decent person.

Attack ad against board members was uncalled for
      The recent huge ad titled "What's Best for Our Children?with its hostile attacks on two veteran school district board members Dorothy Beaubien and Dolores Didio has left me unbelieving and totally disgusted. I am personally aware thathese board members have served with selfless dedication, true caring for our school children and obvious wisdom.

Local food banks deserve our help
      I have been involved with helping the least fortunate in our community for almost a decade. I am dismayed that our only major food bank is at risk. I know the manager at Manna. He is a man of outstanding character. If his clients are the problem, he'll address it. However, what are the problems?

      Wow! Little did I know how powerful I was. Some of my reading fans remember letters I've written years ago. With all the attention I've been getting you'd think I was running for an office. The Acorn may want to hire me to be on their staff, or I could start just charging a fee for my letters to the editor because I draw such a crowd and controversy.
