Jewish Genealogical Society holds meeting

Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County will hold a meeting from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sun., Sept. 7 at Temple Adat Elohim, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

Speaker Warren Blatt, managing director and editor in chief of JewishGen, an affiliate of the Museum of Jewish Heritage, will discuss the history of Jewish surnames, their origins, types and etymologies.

Entertainment will be provided by the Klutzmer Band playing Eastern European music.

There is no charge to attend the meeting.
