KCLU acquires Santa Barbara station
      KCLU will increase its reach in Santa Barbara County and northern Ventura County with the purchase of KIST-AM 1340. The acquisition will boost the National Public Radio station's signal in the city of Santa Barbara from four watts, which can't penetrate some buildings, to 650 watts.

Gold's Gym opens doors to displaced club members
      Body Focus fitness Club closed its doors in early August, leaving its members with no place to work out. Gold's Gym Thousand Oaks is offering a transitional plan for the displaced members. Gold's will transfer in any Body Focus member for zero enrollment fee and a no money down period.
