Achiever in Scouting

Melanie Linnemeier MOTIVATOR— Melanie Linnemeier, 18, will receive the gold award, the pinnacle in Girl Scouts, on Sat., Aug. 16. For her project, she organized and conducted workshops for middle school students to increase their interest and teach them about the color guard program at Newbury Park High School. She recently graduated from NPHS and was involved in many extracurricular activities. She'll attend UC Irvine this fall.
