More than 1,900 additional winners of National Merit Scholarships have been announced by the National Merit Scholarship Corp., including Kevin Soter of Calabasas High School and Kim Young of Thousand Oaks High School. Kevin will attend Northwestern University. Kim is going to the University of Southern California. About 7,500 high school seniors across the nation receive the scholarships following a qualification process that begins in their junior year. The college-sponsored awards give the winners between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study. |
