Aging parent seminar to be held

A free educational seminar and resource fair for people caring for aging parents will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sat., Aug. 16 at Los Robles Hospital East Campus, 150 Via Merida, Westlake Village.

The fair is free and open to the public. It will feature speakers and informational booths from agencies such as Meals on Wheels, the Alzheimer's Association, the Department of Motor Vehicles, Dial-A-Ride and the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging.

"Care of the Caregiver" will be presented by Dr. Lanyard K. Dial, CEO and medical director of Livingston Visiting Nurse Association, at 2:15 p.m.

Betty Berry, Senior Concerns advocate and Ventura County Star columnist, will present "Improving Communication with your Aging Parent" at 3:30 p.m.
