•Army Pfc. James G. Conley has completed the Sapper Leader Course at the U.S. Army Engineer School at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo. Conely, a combat engineer with two years of military experience, is assigned to the 576th Engineer Company, Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colo. He is the son of Craig and Debra Conley of Thousand Oaks and a 2006 graduate of Thousand Oaks High School.

•Coast Guard Seaman James A. Pierson recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J., and was promoted to his present rank. Pierson is a 2000 graduate of Thousand Oaks High School and son of Susan and James Pierson of Thousand Oaks.
