Horse show coming to Simi Valley

A local horse club will host an open horse show, "Show for the Gold," starting 8 a.m. Sat. and Sun., Aug. 30 and 31 at Arroyo Simi Equestrian Center, 3495 Chicory Lane, Simi Valley.

Aug. 30 is the all-English show with classes for three age divisions, and flat and jumping classes for every skill level.

Aug. 31 is the all-Western show with classes for three age divisions. Competition includes halter and showmanship, equitation, pleasure, trail (obstacle course), reining and games.

Prizes for the top riders include gold dollars, awards and trophies. The public is invited to watch and there's no charge for spectators.
