Republicans want teen volunteers

Ventura County middle schoolers and high schoolers, ages 12 to 19, who want to learn more about the GOP and working with Republican campaigns are invited to an inaugural meeting of the Teenage Republicans of the Conejo Valley.

Weekly meetings will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday nights starting Aug. 7 at the Ventura County Republican Center, 2219 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Ste. 103, Thousand Oaks. The center is across the street from The Lakes.

Meetings will include an introduction to GOP principles, short talks from local leaders, explanations of the American political system and the legislative process, visits from local GOP politicians and state legislators, and discussions on how to get involved in the political process.

Admission is free, and refreshments will be served. Attendees are asked to bring a box of cookies to share.

Every meeting will have two chaperons and several adult VIP mentors in attendance.
