Park district to host overnight campout for families

The Conejo Recreation and Park District Outdoor Unit and the Outdoor Advisory Council will present the Family Campout from 1 p.m. Sat., Aug. 16 overnight to noon Sun., Aug. 17 at Wildwood Nature Park in T.O.

The parking lot for the park is at the western end of Avenida de Los Arboles.

Families may drop off their camping gear and take a guided nature hike into Wildwood Canyon while park staff transports the gear to the campsite. Campers may participate in arts and crafts, games and more for the afternoon.

Camp staff will serve a complete camp dinner, including s'mores for dessert, and then present skits, songs and stories around the campfire.

The cost is $20 per person and includes dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.
