National Night Out coming to town

The Wildwood Neighborhood in Thousand Oaks will celebrate its inaugural National Night Out Against Crime with a block party with food, drinks, games, prizes, drawings and live music from 4 to 8 p.m. Sat., Aug. 9 at Big Cloud Circle.

All residents are invited.

The event is for the community to come together to heighten awareness of crime and public safety issues and to strengthen neighborhoods through policecommunity partnerships.

The police department will send representatives from the K9, equestrian, bomb and SWAT units, and the fire department will bring a fire truck.

Elected officials are scheduled to visit and answer questions.
