Apply now for city grants that support community events

Community nonprofit organizations may apply for city of Thousand Oaks Community Events Endowment Fund grants during the annual application period between Aug. 1 and Sept. 30.

The city sets aside $100,000 each year to award to local nonprofit organizations for arts and other events that benefit organizations within the city or help to promote the city.

Events or activities must take place between July 1, 2008, and June 30, 2009, to be eligible. All applications will be reviewed in October by the Community Funding Review Committee, which will make funding recommendations to City Council.

Applicants must meet grant application criteria.

For more information on guidelines and criteria, call Jana Covell, associate analyst, at (805) 449-2660, ext. 258, or e-mail jcovell @mx.tol.lib.ca.us.

Applications are available at the city manager's and city clerk's offices in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza/City Hall, the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, the Newbury Park Branch Library and online at www.toaks.org/city_hall/ depts/city_manager.
