Thousand Oaks High School alumnus Curtis Brown has been awarded the 2008-09 Nicholas Aberhard Award from University of California Irvine.

The award is given to outstanding freshmen.

Brown is a political science major. He serves as a student lobbyist with the UC Student Association and is the alumni chair of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
