Camp Focuses on Developing the Whole Child

The Born Learners School in Agoura focuses on the development of the whole child.

This summer the camp will feature fun and fitness.

Born Learners Little Buddies BootCamp is designed for children 3 to 6 years old by Jesse Wright, the lead instructor of Backyard BootCamp (visit www.backyardbootcamp.org).

"The activities are going to be geared for this age group and will develop little children's coordination, flexibility and real-world balance," said Wright. "There is a lot of good that goes with all of our educational technology, but it does create a sedentary experience for our kids."

Bea Elliott, the school's director, said, "Our goal is getting the children to experience the fun of exercising outside and building the confidence that coordination brings."

The Little Buddies BootCamp is included in the school's summer tuition.

Other fitness activities are also offered for an additional fee. These programs are Tumblebees, Gymnastic Program and Soccer Shots, which teaches the game's skills to children ages 3 to 6.

To balance the physical component with the creative, the camp will also feature a multimedia arts program directed by children's art specialist Robin Underhill.
