Voters to decide multiple races on Election Day Besides being the day when the presidential election is held, Tues., Nov. 4 also presents voters with a variety of local races for school districts, city councils, park boards and water boards. Candidates have until Fri. Aug. 8 to enter the races in Ventura County. The deadline is extended to Aug. 13 if an incumbent decides not to run. The following is an alphabetical rundown of the local area elections: •Calleguas Municipal Water District- three board directors, Divisions I, II and III •Camarillo- two City Council members, four-year term •Camarillo Health Care District- three members •Camarillo Unified School District- five board of education members •Camrosa Water District- two board directors, Div. III and IV •Conejo Valley Recreation and Park District- two directors •Conejo Valley Unified School District- two board of education members •Las Virgenes Municipal Water District - two board directors, Divisions I and IV •Moorpark- mayor, two City Council members •Moorpark Unified School District- three board of education members •Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council- two members •Oak Park Unified School District- two board of education members •Pleasant Valley School District- two board of education members •Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District- four directors: three full-term, one short-term •Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District- three directors •Santa Rosa Valley Municipal Advisory Council- three members •Simi Valley- mayor, two City Council members •Simi Valley Unified School District- two board of education members •Thousand Oaks- two City Council members •Triunfo Sanitation District- one board director |
