Robotics camp coming to T.O.
      Robotics & Things will host the fourth annual Robotics camp/workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Mon. to Fri., Aug. 11 to 15 at Sophie's Education Corner, 2699 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. The camp is designed for children ages 8 to 14 and will use both California and national science standards to create robots, robotic creatures and robotic vehicles.

      Boston University awarded degrees to two local students in May. Nanci E. Maxim of Newbury Park received a bachelor of liberal studies degree in interdisciplinary studies, summa cum laude. Jessica F. Hines of Thousand Oaks received a bachelor of arts in archeology.

      The Pepperdine University Center for the Arts Guild named its officers for 200809 at a recent luncheon at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks. Ellen Weitman was reelected as president.
